Internorm offers three frame materials: timber-aluminium, uPVC-aluminium and full uPVC. All are triple-glazed. The decision comes down to how you want the window to look inside, how much you want to spend and how little you want to maintain.

Timber-aluminium: the premium interior

The aluminium skin outside protects the timber from the weather, so there is nothing to repaint. Inside, you get the warmth and grain of real wood, finished to match floors and joinery. A thermal foam between timber and aluminium keeps U-values excellent, and the composite frame gives strong sound insulation and security.

Choose it if you want a natural interior and plan to stay in the house for a long time. See our timber-aluminium windows.

uPVC-aluminium: low maintenance with a premium exterior

A uPVC core and a powder-coated aluminium exterior give you the slim, crisp look of aluminium with very little upkeep and a more accessible price. Triple-glazed uPVC-aluminium windows reach Uw values as low as 0.62 W/m²K and sound reduction up to 47 dB. The popular exterior colours are dark greys, stainless-steel and metallic shades.

Choose it if you want strong performance and an architectural look without the cost of timber inside. See our uPVC-aluminium windows.

Full uPVC: the practical route

Full uPVC remains the most popular and cost-effective choice, and triple-glazed uPVC is a big step up from the double-glazed uPVC many houses have now. Choose it where budget matters most. See our uPVC windows.

Mix and match

You do not have to choose one material for the whole house. Because the materials share the same design styles, a common approach is timber-aluminium in the living areas and uPVC-aluminium in bathrooms and utility rooms. The outside looks consistent throughout.

Three questions that settle it

  1. Do you want real timber inside? If yes, timber-aluminium.
  2. Is a premium exterior important but timber optional? If yes, uPVC-aluminium.
  3. Is cost the main driver? If yes, full uPVC.
